Pumpkin Craft

This is a little craft I did with Bug the other day.  Basically it starts with asking the student if they think they can make a pumpkin out of rectangles.  The usual answer is no as pumpkins are round, but then you instruct them on how to glue the orange rectangles onto the black paper (first making a "t" and then an "x" and keep on going until it is all filled up).  Oh the amazement on their faces once they realize it can be done!

The eyes and nose and mouth are just cut from black paper and glued on top.  Bug was very proud of his pumpkin.
